Extension to a Detached Dwelling within a Housing Estate in Newtowncunningham, Co. Donegal….

The Brief:

• The brief from the Client’s was very simple ……create a new living space to the gable side of the dwelling

Constraints:

• The available space
• Maintain access along the side
• Existing services
• Existing windows
• How to enter the new living space

The design concept was to maximise all of the space to the side of the dwelling which had an angled boundary, also to orientate the extension to the southern rear corner of the site which had an enclosed play area…….create a connection to a patio area and the play area. The extension would match the appearance of the dwelling in form and finish.
